Dave Duggan
Denizen is a courtroom drama in which the court of public opinion challenges the last dissident to put down the gun. The drama is delivered in the form of a 'speech from the dock.' There is a table of evidence, holding forensic exhibits. Denizen is challenged by a chorus of guards, in front of his fellow citizens. Written as a verse drama, the work brings an audience into direct contact with a threatening individual, a dissident militant, who argues his position on matters of contemporary public interest.
