George Bernard (GB) Shaw
Shaw closely based his play on Theodor Mommsen's 'History of Rome'.
Shaw depicts Caesar as a Superman, a master stateman whose great abilities make him a heroic figure. He lays the foundations of modern government and spearheads social reform. He teaches a young Clepatra everything she knows about running a state.
