Depicting the violent and tragic consequences of Irish republicanism, 'Defender of the Faith' tells the story of a fractured family, entrenched in violent and uncompromising paramilitarism, which finally shatters when a senior figure in the IRA visits the farm to hunt out a suspected informer.
