Baile | Eolas | Déan Teagmháil Linn
Joseph Crilly
An old Hibs Hall, on top of McQuillan's hill near Gentry, west of the River Bann.
On McQuillan's Hill examines a number of traumatic days in the life of the hard-living, rural Ulster Maline family as Fra's early release from prison under the Good Friday Agreement coincides with the return of his long-emigrated sister Marian to McQuillan's Hill. This combination of events proves explosive both for the siblings and those around them, as memories of old deeds mix with present-day revelations encompassing sex, love and sectarian violence in a small community.
