Bill Morrison
1940 - 2011
Born in Ballymoney, Bill Morrison was educated at Queen's University Belfast and became an actor with the Arts Theatre. His first professional production as a writer was an adaptation of George Farquhar's Love and a Bottle for the Dublin Theatre Festival in 1966. He has written for stage, radio, TV and film. He has been writer in residence at the Victoria Theatre, Stoke, and the Liverpool Everyman. Also a director, he was joint artistic director (with Willy Russell, Alan Bleasdale and Chris Bond) of the Liverpool Playhouse from 1981 to 1985.
