History
Founded in 1985, Red Kettle was a Waterford-based professional company. Red Kettle's artistic policy was to create a stimulating environment where a core company of actors could collaborate with artists, choreographers, composers, designers, directors, musicians, writers and others to make vital, vigorous and exciting theatre for audiences in Waterford, Ireland and internationally. The company was fully committed to creating, through its children’s company, Little Red Kettle, a platform whereby children can participate actively in the theatre process and to make theatre accessible and attractive to young audiences. In addition to productions in Wateford, Red Kettle was recognised as one of the leading touring theatre companies in Ireland. The company’s premises at Central Hall in Waterford’s Viking Triangle included a sixty-seat venue and workshop space where the performances and workshops for all ages were held.
